Two people were arrested and charged with attempted murder and other charges after a pursuit by law enforcement Monday afternoon that began at Appomattox County High School and ended in a crash on Five Forks Road in Prince Edward County.

Olivia Rose Hurt, 19, of Cartersville, and Mitariq E. Green, 20, of Chesterfield, were booked at Blue Ridge Regional Jail in Amherst County on Monday and charged with attempted murder in the first degree, among other charges. Police located a 9mm handgun in the vehicle after it had crashed.

The pair had led police on a approximate 20-mile pursuit while fleeing after being approached by Appomattox County deputies in the school parking lot.
