At the Town of Appomattox regular council meeting Monday, Mayor Paul Harvey commended the Black Lives Matter event that was held at the Appomattox Courthouse in town.
“It was conducted very well and peaceably,” said Harvey. “The young ladies that put that on did a very good job in organizing it. We should say kudos to Sheriff (Donald) Simpson and his department for being present and making sure everything was quiet and protected.”
