Jobs, jobs, jobs! From multiple perspectives, jobs are the drivers of our economy.
If you are a worker, you need one. If you are an entrepreneur or a business manager, you have positions that you must fill with qualified individuals in order to produce products or services to sell. Even those that exist on passive investments are affected by the health of the job market.
Although my ability to assist in this area is quite limited, I do participate in the Central Virginia Workforce Development Board (CVWDB) and attempt to be a positive force by doing so. Communication through the chamber of some of the programs taking place is one way that I can be an influence.
The CVWDB creates and sustains connections between businesses and job seekers through a statewide network of employment professionals. It directly serves the Virginia Career Works Central Region of Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford and Campbell Counties plus the City of Lynchburg. The board is funded through the federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act.
