On Wednesday, May 17th, the Jamerson Library hosted Jeannette Brady of Joyful Noise for a music-inspired Story & Craft Time! She presented the book “Music is in Everything” by Ziggy Marley and illustrated by Ag Jatkowsak. This book is based on a popular song celebrating music’s many forms. If you missed the book you can view a reading of it on YouTube at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q9QcXc5RWZQ. Jeannette showed everyone to how to make their own music by adding buttons, beads and other baubles to a jar to create rhythm shakers. We danced around Abbitt Park, played with toys, shook our shakers, and enjoyed snacks! We would like to thank the Town of Appomattox for being so generous to us and allowing us to use Abbitt Park for many of our programs. The Town has taken care of this county library for many years, and we look forward to many more years. Our next Story & Craft Time will be held today, starting at 11 a.m. and noon.

On Thursday, May 18th, the library hosted Jamerson Movie Night. This PG–13 rated movie was about the untold story of the complex and multifaceted woman behind “The Voice,” from New Jersey choir girl to one of the best-selling and most awarded recording artists of all-time. Those that attended got to enjoy free refreshments. Due to the upcoming Summer Reading Program, we will be taking a break from Movie Night for the next few months. Be sure to keep an eye out on our social media pages, library fliers, and the local paper for the next Movie Night dates.
