Alex Caruso tosses no-hitter for Appomattox baseball

Appomattox Raiders baseball pitcher Alex Caruso tossed a five-inning no-hitter Wednesday night in the team's 12-0 shutout at Dan River.

The game ended after the fifth inning due to the high school Mercy Rule.

Caruso recorded six strikeouts and allowed no walks. One Dan River batter reached base on an error.

The Dogwood District win improves the Raiders' record to 6-2 (4-0 in the district).
