The Appomattox Town Council went back and forth Monday at their regular council meeting concerning the discussion of a proposed food truck ordinance.

The rate that was discussed at the last meeting was revisited.

At the July 23 meeting, the proposed food truck ordinance had a $200 yearly fee, but it was decided to adjust the proposal to a non-prorated $100 yearly fee. (Food trucks would still be required to pay a meals tax in addition to the yearly fee.) A $25 daily permit also was in the proposal, requiring no meals tax.

As things are, food trucks are under a business license and pay 10 cents per $100 of gross receipts.

The council revisited these numbers at this week’s meeting.
