An Appomattox teen has won a pageant at the state level and will be competing at the international level this summer. Teagan Cole, 13, won the East Coast Perfect Pageant in Washington, DC in April and earned a spot in the pageant’s international competition in Orlando.

“There were 150 people competing from all over Virginia in different age groups. Hers was 12-15 year olds. The highest award was Most Perfect Teen, and she won it,” reported Cole’s mother, Kasey Sherlin.

Unlike pageants that focus on glamour, glitz, and elegant gowns, this one emphasizes community service and verbal skills, Sherlin explained. “She won because she had done the most community service.”
