Downtown Appomattox was all decked out for the holidays — just in time for the gathering crowd at the Experience the Holidays event held Saturday.

From 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., people from within and outside of Appomattox County came out to enjoy the family-friendly holiday festivities.

Unlike last year’s damp and wet Experience the Holidays event, sunshine gave off its own holiday cheer over the weekend.

The event itself was put on by Experience Appomattox — a group of local entities with an interest in encouraging tourism within the locality of Appomattox County.

Throughout the day, the free event featured live music at Courtland Festival Park. Also at the park, the Vintage & Artisan Merry Market was held with 37 local vendors showcasing their handmade and vintage goods.
