Local seamstress Michelle Copenhaver and her sister Jeanette Clear found a way to bond and work for a positive cause together — despite the geographically long-distant relationship.

Copenhaver lives in Appomattox, while Clear lives about three hours away.

“She lives in another town in Virginia, but we’re still working together,” said Copenhaver.

The sisters began making face masks for family members at no charge. When pictures of the masks were posted on Facebook, they began to receive mask requests from others.
