The Appomattox Town Council met Tuesday, Sept. 27, to discuss various topics, including ongoing drug issues involving local students and Carver Price Legacy Museum’s lease and water bill.

At the end of the meeting, council member Claudia G. Puckette said that she was concerned about the rising drug issues among students within the Appomattox area.

“There was a student fighting for their life, and a friend of mine’s daughter passed away due to drugs,” she said.

Puckette gave her opinion on what could be done to solve the issue and motioned to have letters sent to the Virginia senators.
