Venue 1848 getting renovations

“With the ambience of original hardwood floors, tin-tile ceilings, and exposed brick,” Venue 1848 provides an environment for ceremonies and special events.

If you go past 1848 Church Street in Appomattox, you may notice a fresh new look. The address is the site of Venue 1848.

“Venue 1848 is a boutique event space for intimate weddings, special family celebrations and small business events,” explained owner Nancy Wilks.

The local small business was one recipient of the first round of Downtown Revitalization Grants. That first round was a grant totaling $700,000 from the Department of Housing and Community Development for several businesses including Venue 1848, explained Appomattox Town Manager Gary Shanaberger.
