For the past many months, I have made it no secret that the chamber, like many other entities during the pandemic, has been facing financial challenges. Help from the town, county, a few new memberships and some private donations have allowed us to keep our head above water, if just barely.
One of the reasons for this difficulty has been the inability to hold fundraising events due to the restrictions imposed during the past 16 months. As the current environment has opened up, this is, hopefully, about to change. Fundraisers, however, are not an automatic solution — they only work with your support.
On Saturday, Aug. 7, plan on attending Bike Night in Courtland Festival Park from 6 to 10 p.m. as the chamber resumes holding an annual event. The band, Out of Spite, will take the stage and play favorites from the rock era plus many numbers from other popular genres.
