I feel the need to include a correction of something that I included in my column last week that, after publishing, I discovered to be untrue.
My congratulations to a Heather Mayberry for receiving one of the Nurse of the Year awards was misdirected. Although the named young lady is certainly deserving of congratulations, the person awarded is not the Appomattox native that I had assumed. There was probably no harm created by this error, however, I wish to set the record straight.
To prep for this week’s columns, I took a Monday morning drive around the community to supplement my impressions of our various business environments. Although the current restrictive commercial environment can easily promote a depressed vision, I find plenty of reason for optimism.
