Raider swimmers cruise past Prince Edward

On Friday, the Appomattox County High School swim team began 2023 like they ended 2022, with a resounding win. This time, they defeated Prince Edward County High School by a score of 223-107.

Raider swimmers won all six relays and 11 of 18 individual events on the night.

Seniors Charlie Drinkard, Bennett Goodman, Berkley Jamerson and Catherine Thomas placed first in all eight of their individual events, while juniors Tyler Burton and Morgan Flamm, and freshman Conner Burton each won an event.

“This is the first meet when Appomattox has won all six relays in a single meet,” said Coach Evans Thomas after the contest. “For the first time in the program’s history, the team has been able to put up exceptionally competitive relays across the board.”
