Liberty field hockey’s Daniella Rhodes was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week.
The 2019 BIG EAST Freshman of the Year and 2021 Preseason All-BIG EAST team honoree picked up where she left off a season ago with two goals, an assist and five points in Liberty’s 3-1 win at Davidson on Sunday morning, Feb. 14, in the season opener.
This is Rhodes’ second career BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week recognition.
The sophomore scored what proved to be the game-winning goal 28 seconds into the second half (30:28), giving Liberty a 1-0 lead. Rhodes also assisted on Jill Bolton’s goal in the 35th minute, which made it 2-0 Lady Flames. Rhodes added an empty net goal at 59:45 to seal the 3-1 triumph.
The goals were the 14th and 15th of Rhodes’ career in just 19 career games.
Her five points in the contest gives her five career games with four or more points.
In 19 career games, Rhodes has 15 goals, 10 assists and 40 points.
