Appomattox County High School Football Coach Doug Smith met with his coaching staff, the Raiders football team, and their parents at the school on Aug. 3. During the meeting, members of Monroe Masonic Lodge No. 301 of Appomattox bestowed an award for the coach.
District Deputy Grand Master Ken Fredrick from the 25th Virginia Masonic District and Worship Master Wayne Cyrus of Monroe Lodge presented Smith with the Community Builder Award, which “is bestowed from the Grand Lodge of Virginia Ancient, Free & Accepted Masons through its local lodges in recognition of outstanding service to the community by the post.
