Tuesday was quite a night in the world of Appomattox County High School athletics. All four teams participating in the quarterfinal round of the 2021 VHSL Region 2C tournament were victorious. Three games were played at home and one on the road. All three Raider home teams held their opponents scoreless.

The Raiders softball team shutout Fort Chiswell 10-0 at home. Appomattox pitcher Courtney Layne tossed her third perfect game of the 2021 season. 

The Raiders girls soccer team shutout Nelson County 2-0 at home. 

The Raiders boys soccer team shutout Patrick County 5-0 at home. 

The Raiders baseball team traveled to Fort Chiswell and won 7-5. 

Thursday's Region 2C semifinal round schedule: 

Softball: Alleghany (No. 5 seed) at Appomattox (No. 1 seed). Game time 5:30 p.m. 

Girls soccer: Glenvar (No. 5 seed) at Appomattox (No. 1 seed). Game time 7 p.m. 

Boys soccer: Appomattox (No. 3 seed) at Nelson County (No. 2 seed). Game time 6 p.m. 

Baseball: Appomattox (No. 7 seed) at Floyd County (No. 3 seed). Game time 5 p.m. 

Winners of Thursday's matchups will move on to play in their respective Region 2C championship game on Saturday.
