Glossophobia, or a fear of public speaking, is a very common phobia and one that is believed to affect up to 75 percent of the population! Fear of public speaking is the number one fear of all fears (according to the book of lists). The fear of dying is number seven. But communicating your ideas clearly and presenting them openly in public is an essential component of success.
The 4-H Public Speaking/presentation lessons are an important part of the 4-H in-school programming for 4th, 5th, some 6th, and some private school students, as well. Through practice and steely determination, I have seen some amazing results in our county youth.
