On Saturday, Aug. 10, Appomattox’s local Tractor Supply Company hosted some furry friends from the Appomattox County Animal Shelter in a bid to raise local community engagement and rescue adoption.
Pet adoption was hosted inside Appomattox County’s Tractor Supply Company as a part of a national move to bring foot traffic to the store and raise awareness through the inclusion of local animal shelters. The event included three small kittens, two puppies, and one full-grown dog, each of which was relaxing in his or her cage, labeled by name and breed. Each animal was up for adoption that very day and could be taken from the store home by prospective pet owners.
Outside of the store, Ministry On The Move sold hotdog lunches as a part of Tractor Supply Company’s national “Food Truck Rodeo,” a push by the company to create a community atmosphere at the otherwise corporate chain establishment.
