A woman charged with misusing money belonging to the Town of Pamplin pleaded guilty to four counts of felony embezzlement of public funds on Thursday, July 1 in Appomattox County Circuit Court.
Paulie W. Johnson, 66, of Farmville, was the Town of Pamplin treasurer and clerk when discrepancies in town books from Jan. 1, 2015, through Jan. 31, 2018, were discovered during an audit.
The missing funds case is still under investigation as approximately $31,000 was unaccounted for in the audit.
