Liberty Baptist Church hosted a Fourth of July event on Saturday, July 3, for the community with the help of local sponsors such as Fire and Safety Equipment Company, the Town of Appomattox, Village Print Shop and Wilkes Jewelers.

The free event was the first in five years, as it was previously tied to the “Railroad Festival,” an event that is well-known to the Appomattox community. Inflatables, patriotic music, food and field day events were present on the 12-acre land across from the church. The space was overgrown, but Liberty Baptist has decided to use the space to bring fun and fellowship to the area.
