At the request of the Amherst County Sheriff’s Office, the Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation’s Appomattox Field Office is investigating a non-fatal shooting involving one of its deputies in Gladstone.

At approximately 7:40 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, the Amherst County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in the 100 block of Charity Lane for a domestic situation.

When sheriff’s deputies arrived, they encountered an adult female, with a firearm, outside the residence, according to state police.
