Pursuant to an ongoing law enforcement investigation, Appomattox County Sheriff’s Office deputies attempted to stop a wanted individual in the 6000 block of Richmond Highway (Route 460) at approximately midnight Friday.
The driver refused to stop and led deputies on a 15-minute chase through the area, according to the sheriff’s office. The pursuit ended in a motor vehicle accident in the Town of Appomattox near the intersection of Church Street and Lee Grant Avenue.
The suspect, Carl Tyler Bane, 28, of Madison Heights, was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Amherst County. Bane also was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
