Appomattox County Public Schools (ACPS) officially announced Friday that administration and the school board decided to cease contract tracing of individual COVID-19 cases and quarantining related to school-level close contacts. The new policy officially came into effect Monday.
The matter was discussed at length by Superintendent Dr. Annette Bennett at Thursday evening’s interim school board meeting.
Bennett cited recent changes by the Virginia Department of Health (VDH), whereby the VDH is not currently performing individual contact tracing and is not requiring the practice to be done by schools.
