We love Scout at the library and will be offering another chance to win with the April’s Spring Raffle featuring Scout, assorted candies and peeps! Anyone can enter, it is one chance per person, per visit. We will announce the winner of the upcoming Spring Raffle on Friday, April 29.
On Tuesday, March 22, Carter Swanberg and Will Morgan, students from the Appomattox County High School, stopped by the library to donate the book “Tales of the Dairy Godmother: Chuck’s Ice Cream Wish” by Viola Butler. This donation was on behalf of the Appomattox Farm Bureau, and the Appomattox FFA chapter. The library would like to thank them for this wonderful book.
On Thursday, March 24, the Library featured a fun family-friendly after school movie by playing a film about an adventurous cruise down the Amazon jungle, with snacks provided. The next Jamerson movie will be shown on Thursday, April 21, at 6 p.m. and Thursday, April 28, at 3:30 p.m. We won’t talk about Bruno no no no no for the upcoming film.
For the Wednesday, March 30 Preschool Story & Craft Time, the library hosted an ACLA (Appomattox County Library Association) volunteer, Doris who read the book ”Errol’s Garden” by Gillian Hibbs, followed up by making a mini greenhouse craft project.
We would like to thank ACLA for donating the snacks. Next week’s Story & Craft Time will be presented by the Robert E. Lee Soil and Water Conservation District, featuring a book about clouds, on Wednesday, April 6, starting at 11 a.m. and noon.
We will be hosting a very casual “Plant Swap” outside the front doors starting Monday, April 4. The library will be providing a space for patrons to leave and take plants. If you wish to participate we do ask that you provide as many plants as you take. This is a program to exchange happiness.
