Raiders' softball trio sign collegiate letters of intent

Three senior members of the 2021 Class 2 State Champion Appomattox Raiders softball team officially confirmed where they will be playing at the collegiate level by signing letters of intent Wednesday evening on National Signing Day. The ceremony was held at Appomattox County High School. 

Raider pitcher Courtney Layne and shortstop Kelsey Hackett will be attending the University of Virginia. The Cavaliers' 2022 recruiting class is currently ranked No. 15 in the NCAA by Extra Inning Softball. 

Raider catcher Abby Wilkerson will be attending Sweet Briar College. The Vixens' softball program will be returning in the Spring of 2023 after a four-year hiatus.
