Husband/wife auto theft team get suspended sentences

Charles Wesley Branham, 27, of Monroe, pleaded guilty Aug. 29 to one felony charge of grand larceny auto theft. He was sentenced to a five-year suspended sentence with two years of good behavior and two years supervised probation as requirements.

Evidence presented in court states that on Dec. 7, 2018, Branham acted in concert with his wife, Lauren Alyssa Ware-Branham, in stealing a 2002 Nissan Altima from the driveway of an elderly Appomattox County woman.

The victim is the great aunt of Laura Branham, who knew where the keys were kept in the automobile.
