Words from the Chamber

Word is out regarding the scheduled Blue Ridge Rock Festival to be held at the Appomattox Community Park/Industrial Park on Sept. 18-20. In the months before the event occurs, I will have the opportunity to write much about it, so this is an introductory primer containing information that I have gained so far.

First of all, this is a serious event. The organizers have a track record of holding a successful, well-organized and secure festival. They know what they are doing. Conditions are imposed on vendors to prohibit price gouging and special arrangements are being formulated to include fundraising opportunities for local non-profits. Their commitment is to provide an event that maximizes the value for fans and the host community. This is a locally based organization that strives to be an asset and a welcomed addition to the community on an ongoing basis.
