Freedom Fastpitch-Weakley, a local girls softball team based out of Appomattox, recently won the State Games of America 12U Gold Bracket Division tournament held in Lynchburg at Liberty University on Aug. 3-4.
Freedom finished the tournament undefeated, winning six games, scoring 50 runs and allowing only 15. Freedom beat out 10 other teams to earn the gold medal.
