Pamplin man gets three years for abduction in sexual assault
On Thursday, Dec. 7 in Appomattox County Circuit Court, 45-year-old Lawrence Junior Webber, of Pamplin, was sentenced to serve three years in a penitentiary after pleading guilty to four charges involving abduction and sexual assault of an employee at Pamplin Exxon.
The three-year active sentence was applied to a felony charge of abduction by force. Suspended time was applied to misdemeanor charges of indecent exposure, sexual battery, and assault and battery.
Appomattox man pleads guilty to unlawful wounding
Marcus Lamont Wright, 40, of Appomattox, pleaded guilty to a charge of felony unlawful wounding on Dec. 7 in Appomattox County Circuit Court.
According to evidence proffered in court, Appomattox County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a domestic disturbance call on April 29, 2022 at 11 p.m. Upon arrival, deputies saw a female victim with facial injuries crying and holding a paper towel against her nose.
