On Friday evening, Dec. 8, T&C Promotions brought singer/songwriter Jimmy Fortune to Appomattox County High School, making this his first ever appearance in Appomattox — and probably not his last.

Jimmy Fortune was born and raised in Nelson County. Fortune, formerly with the Statler Brothers for 21 years singing tenor, has continued writing songs and entertaining crowds out on his own since the Statler Brothers retired in 2002.

On Friday night, a sold-out auditorium crowd of over 900 people were entertained with fan favorites of the past, new songs recently written, and Christmas music to put everyone in the holiday spirit. It was truly a wonderful night of entertainment.
