Hamilton wins again as Raiders cross country runs toward season’s end

The Appomattox Raiders boys and girls cross country team competed in Altavista on Wednesday, Oct. 13. 

Clay Hamilton placed first overall in the boys race, running the course in a time of 10:23. 

Hamilton was followed by Kaden Kessler (4th overall in  a time of 11:18), Christian Goodman (11:40), Lucas Hunter (12:11), Gibson Yoder (12:18), Logan Sharpard (13:27), Wiley Hamilton (14:22) and Noah Richardson (14:54). 

Elly Nash placed second overall in the girls race in a time of 12:18, followed by Julie Goodman (13:17), Audrey Lovins (13:43) and Shylynn Randolph (13:46). 

In varsity competition, Ryan Ghee ran the 3.1 mile course in a time of 22:57. Madison Martin did not run.

The boys and girls cross country team also competed at the Milestat Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 16.  

The Raiders will compete in their last meet today at Angler’s Park in Danville. Starting time is 5 p.m.
