CASA launches toy drive for local children in need

CASA of Central Virginia, a nonprofit organization dedicated to advocating for abused and neglected children in the community, is excited to announce its toy drive for the local Departments of Social Services, including Lynchburg and surrounding counties.

The organization is currently seeking new and unwrapped toys to bring joy to children who are in foster care, kinship care, or facing challenging circumstances in the community. Board games, dolls, sports balls, and Legos are recommended for younger children, while teenagers can benefit from new, unwrapped haircare or skincare products, gift sets, hats, gloves, socks, apartment essentials, gas cards, and gift cards.

Donations can be dropped off at the CASA of Central Virginia Office, located at 901 Church Street, Suite 101, Lynchburg, VA 24504, during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

"Our annual toy drive is an opportunity for the community to come together and make a positive impact on the lives of children who may be facing difficult circumstances during the holiday season," said Allison Stronza, executive director at CASA of Central Virginia. "We believe that every child deserves to experience the joy and magic of the holidays, and with the support of our generous community, we can make that happen."

CASA of Central Virginia recruits, trains, and supports volunteers who serve as advocates for children navigating the child welfare system. By providing a voice for these children, CASA volunteers work to ensure they are placed in safe and permanent homes.
